a frigid weekend

We had planned to go skiing on Saturday with the church youth group, but that got cancelled due to sub-zero temperatures. Instead, we (mostly just guys) played soccer in the gym at the church in the afternoon, and then we (guys and gals) went to see Harry sing. Harry was a student at Wheaton Academy who was in our conversational Spanish class. He has a band that plays at a coffee shop every other Saturday. The name of his band is not Harry and the Hendersons, but it should be. They were pretty good, and our kids had a good time. There were about 450 people crammed into a coffee shop that was the size of our laundry room.

Today, we went to church and then relaxed a bit afterwards. We had a meeting in the afternoon with a team of students from College Church who are coming to Costa Rica in June for a mission trip. Tonight, we left the kids with a sitter and went out to eat at Chili's. We later picked up a bunch of the boys and took them bowling.
